I've been telling everyone to keep up with my blog, when I myself haven't even been keeping up with it! Sorry. Well, here I am, less than four days from departure. A few issues had been worrying me about the trip, but I think all of them were solved today. Now, I'm pretty well ready to go. I say thanks to all that have contributed monetarily; you are greatly appreciated. Most importantly, I thank everyone for their prayer support. I haven't been in the business of missions for very long (less than 1.5 years) and God knows I'm still learning a lot about faith. I've had the opportunity to talk to one boy in Spanish, but other than that, I have no experience in Spanish-language missions. So, I need prayer for me to be bold and open to what tasks God presents for me to do in Peru, as well as prayer that my Spanish skills will quickly grow so that I can be most effective. Also, pray for the people our team will come in contact with.
I'm on the Creative Ministries Team, which means I'm going to be acting in skits, puppeting, and singing. I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that John F Green IV might actually be doing some miming. All of this, of course, will be in Spanish. I think we're going to memorize it all, and I've never seen any of it before. I think it's going to be great. I like my teammates already; we seem to have a lot in common and I foresee us working well together. I'm sure many of y'all are thinking, "How is boring, monotonous Juan Verde going to survive on a Creative Ministries Team." Well, all I'm saying is that I come alive on stage. I can simulate emotion if I have to. Well, I should probably go to sleep so I can wake up late and do nothing tomorrow. So, bye. I love you.
